In case of emergency, such as injury or severe pain, don’t panic! It is important to have Dr. Babik look at your mouth as soon as possible. Call our office at (804) 755-8050. IF YOU HAVE HAD TOOTH KNOCKED OUT, IT IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE THE TOOTH. If you make your appointment right away, and bring the tooth with you when you come to the office, we can sometimes reinsert the tooth. Even 30 minutes can make the difference between losing or saving the tooth. Here are some guidelines:
- Handle the tooth gently.
- Rinse the tooth very gently. Do not scrub the tooth. Be sure to place a towel or washcloth in the sink so that the tooth does not go down the drain.
- Place the tooth back in your mouth next to your cheek
- Call our office immediately. The longer you wait, the less chance we have of reinserting the tooth.
If you are a parent, keep Dr. Babik’s contact information with you at all times!
Other dental emergencies might be types of injuries to the mouth, such as puncture wounds, lacerations, or tears to the lips. These are all considered dental emergencies. If you are not sure whether your problem is a true emergency, call and consult with Dr. Babik. If the condition is not an emergency, we will make an appointment for you that is convenient to your schedule.
