If You Lost Your Tooth

In case you need emergency dental care, such as injury or severe pain, don’t panic! If you make your appointment right away, and bring the tooth with you when you come to the office, we can sometimes reinsert the tooth. Even 30 minutes can make the difference between losing or saving the tooth.

If You Lost Your Tooth:

  • Handle the Tooth Gently
  • Rinse the Tooth - Do Not Scrub. Place towel or washcloth in sink beforehand so that the tooth does not fall down the drain.
  • Place the tooth back in your mouth next to your cheek
  • Contact Us Immediately

Other dental emergencies might be types of injuries to the mouth, such as puncture wounds, lacerations, or tears to the lips. These are all considered dental emergencies. Any dental problem that requires immediate treatment in order to save a tooth, stop bleeding, or alleviate severe pain is considered a dental emergency.
